It is always preferred to add new security devices to uPVC doors and windows. Although many of the modern uPVC doors today come with suffice security devices such as deadlock shoot bolts or multi-point locking systems, there are many others that don't - and are not strong enough to provide you with the proper security. Moreover, many of the modern uPVC doors out there are not strong enough to support locking mechanisms secured with steel screw. Any changes to such doors might revoke your warranty or even damage the original locking mechanisms.
